Grape Powdery Mildew Spore Detection - An air sampler is set up in your vineyard where powdery mildew is known to occur. Samples are collected twice weekly from bud break to veraison and analyzed using molecular techniques. This analysis is quantitative and allows the exact number of grape powdery mildew spores to be counted and reported back to the growers. Growers and vineyard managers receive results within 24 hrs of sample collection in spreadsheet format via email. Results are also represented on a map which is updated in real time, giving vineyard managers a visual representation of aggregate data from spore traps in their as well as surrounding vineyards.
Fungicide Resistance Testing - Samples which are positive for grape powdery mildew are analyzed for strobilurin (FRAC11) fungicide resistance. This knowledge is critical in controlling powdery mildew. Growers need to know if they are choosing an effective fungicide!!
